Morning walk convo with grandpa
I’m at a crosswalk, staring at the red traffic light, waiting for it to change. No cars, no movement, just me and an old man beside me. The light’s still red, but then, suddenly, he starts walking across the street.
Im standing there thinking, The light’s still red, why is he going? Maybe he didn’t notice it was red. I can also see that cars are slowly appearing on the road while he is passing it.
“Where are you going? It’s red light” I ask.
He turns to me, with this calm, knowing look, and says, “I’m 75 years old, can’t waist a minute. I dont have much time left.” And with a smile on his face, he keeps walking across the road.
Not a lifestyle advice really (to cross on a red light😂), but some food for thought. Maybe sometimes we wait too much before moving forward?
